Although I’m rating the Table Mesa store (645 So. Broadway), they are not listed in the Yellow Pages yet, so I’ll comment on this one, since the chain originated at this location.



I bought syringes from the Table Mesa Pharmaca for my diabetic cat just before our family left for a weekend trip. I was unknowingly given allergy syringes, which have needles that are too long for subcutaneous insulin injections, especially for a pet. Since we talked about diabetic pets as I was waiting, I assumed they knew I wanted diabetic syringes.



I found out too late that the needles were too long, and the neighbor who would give the injections, who was a nurse, also told me the units were not meant for insulin. My pet had to forgo injections for four days as a result.



Returning the syringes for proper ones after our return, a pharmacist told me I was responsible for the cost of the allergy syringes. The one pharmacist who was on hand when I bought the syringes was especially rude to me. He angrily scolded me for returning them, and cut me off when I told them that our cat could not receive the injections.



I’ve purchased many boxes of diabetic syringes from Pharmaca before, as well as patronized the Table Mesa location and the other Boulder stores for years, but I’m appalled and dismayed by the two pharmacists, especially for the one blaming me for the wrong syringes. Since the pharmacist wished I wouldn’t return, I won’t, and I suggest any reader of this review do the same. How I wish Gene Lang’s Pharmacy would return to the North Boulder site, and Peebles Drug Store to the Table Mesa site!
