Remarkable place!! Both my son & my daughter attended Palmetto Play Care for over three years. The best two ladies one could ask for. Some of the most professional, kind and nurturing pair of teachers we've worked with. My children adored them both. They would have stayed until school age but unfortunately we moved away from the neighborhood. My husband & I struggled with the decision to leave. We drove the kids back everyday for two months all the way from Silver Spring because replacing them seemed impossible. Trying to find a preschool that offers a comparable Spanish Immersion curriculum was a challenge. Thanks to them my children now understand and speak Spanish quite well. I would recommend Palmetto Play Care to any parent, Definitely a cut above the rest!!

Don't waste your time..you will be email for 2 weeks and never get a call

Please bare with me because this review is a little lengthy.Since my son has displayed indicators of being an advanced learner, I decided to look into a daycare that I thought would be able to challenge him developmentally. I looked into this daycare a year ago and was very impressed with its claim of being a Spanish Immersion Daycare with 3:1 ratio. I thought this would be perfect for my son developmentally. I first attempted to contact Palmetto a year ago and left several phone messages that went unanswered. I then decided that maybe this was an indicator that they were full and continued on my search for the perfect daycare for my son. 6 months later, I saw an ad on Craigslist indicating that Palmetto had an opening for a toddler starting March. This started my decent into Palmetto HELL! I sent the daycare an e-mail to the address that they had posted on Craigslist and got no reply. I then called the daycare and went to the daycare's website and was sent a cut and paste reply written directly off of their website. I then called and got their answering machine. Then I received this e-mail: "It's been really busy here. We apologize for the delay. Hopefully we can speak tomorrow by phone and set something up. When is the best time to call you and which number works best?" I sent Palmetto the best time to call me and my number and received no call! Still understanding that people can get busy, I contacted Palmetto again and received this message :"We schedule our appointments in the early mornings (7:30) Tues-Thurs so we can provide you with our undivided attention. It becomes a bit more challenging once the children begin to arrive. We try to set up a meeting when both parents are available. This gives us the opportunity to go over all your concerns at once and discover our compatibility. Perhaps we can schedule a meeting in the near future when you are available. Let us know what works best for you. Thank you for your time and interest. We are looking forward to meeting you soon." I sent Palmetto an e-mail stating that I can meet at 7 or 7:15 am thinking that that since they made a statement that since the children arrive early it becomes a bit more difficult once the children arrive and I received the following e-mail :"As a parent you might agree that time is extremely valuable. Perhaps our hours are not the best fit for you and your family and that is completely understandable. We wouldn't want to waste your time or set the wrong expectations. Good luck in your search and thank you so much for your interest in our program." WHAT??? I got a rejection e-mail? I am an early childhood college professor and Reading Specialist. I later sent a e-mail explaining that we must have had some type of communication error and got no answer to this day. I am writing this so no one else will have to endure the 2 weeks of hell that Palmetto Playcare in Bowie MD put me through. Stay away please...there are more credible daycares in the area that have no problem picking up the phone to answer questions. and set up schedules.
