This weekend, I let my dog RUN...with no leash...with CONFIDENCE!!! This probably doesn't sound like a big deal to a lot of people, but for us, it was! I have had my dog for 2.5 years and we haven't been able to do this for at least half of that time because she developed an aggressiveness toward other dogs that I didn't know how to conquer. Our vet highly recommended Cumberland K-9 and Alan was very receptive to helping me where others weren't so enthused...even though he knew I had an aggressive dog. Alan showed me how to behave so that my dog will too. He had confidence that we could do it, and that trickled down to both of us. He was very intuitive about what would make us uncomfortable and had creative ways to make all of the students more comfortable. I just can't express how thankful Dory and I both are for Alan and Paula at Cumberland K-9 Academy! They totally rock!

I am so grateful for Alan and Cumberland K9 Academy. I have had dogs all my life, and am not a newcomer to dog training. My family adopted a boxer that had been abused last year and suddenly we were challenged. I took him to obedience class ( not with Alan). He learned to walk on a leash sit and lie down. The problem was he had other issues that did not get addressed. Top problems- bit my husband , food aggression , resource guarding ( all related). I was not comfortable keeping the dog, but was devaasted to lose him. He was very sweet 90% of the time, aggressive the other 10%.. Alan assured me the dog could be helped. Alan helped me train him with firmness and kindness. I know have a great dog that is well trained and sweet 100% of the time. We recently took him camping and he was the best trained dog there. And the happiest. Thank you Alan.
