This store is in violation of state and federal retail and consumer law that states return policies must be posted in a visible location. Their return policy is on a 8x4 paper, size 10 font on a post at the register. The policies are not apparent to the shoppers. How much money and lost good will to the community has this store generated by not telling shoppers they have a "No returns" policy? They only make exchanges. And they were arrogant enough to state "everyone knows - that has always been our policy". Not if they haven't shopped at that store. The appropriate response would have been (when I pointed out the policy wasn't posted for the customer to see) was "You are correct and we will get that fixed immediately. In the meantime let me contact my district manager to see how we can rectify this situation". I donated my merchandise back to the store after I found out - there wasn't anything else I wanted in the store and I did not feel I should be forced to take home merchandise I didn't want. I do not try on clothes in public places. 2/3 of the clothes I purchased were "returned" - I left them at the store to be resold. An expensive lesson. I will be talking to the administrative offices in Louisville and Bowling Green this week and if signs are not posted within 30 days and registers programed to print the policy, I will be filing a complaint with the Consumer Affairs office and the KY Attorney General.
