11 years ago we started at Beach Vet when it was owned by the very caring and knowledgeable Dr. Berglund. Unfortunately he sold his his veterinary practice last summer to a corporation that owns 400 other veterinary practices. The quality of care isn't the same.

We took our dog to Beach in January because he ate nylons. We agreed to let Dr. ---do the surgery only beacause the Dr. said there were no Vet surgery specialists in Sarasota and we would need to go to Tampa. We were misinformed. We also found out after the dog' s surgery that no one watches the pets at night at Beach Vet and they are left alone for over 13 hours. We had an additional expense to have him transported to a facility that provides all night care which was needed because we were informed that our dog arrived already in severe pain from Beach. After 48 hours of problems and mistruths from Beach, our dog needed another surgery to fix the problems encountered from Beach. He had leakage from the incision and peritonitis had set in. It cost us another $7000 at Veterinary Specialists(wish I had known about this Vet before the first surgery)to fix his multiple problems.
If I had listened to Dr. ---at Beach and not insisted upon an ultra sound, the dog would not have survived. No one at Beach ever called to see how our dog was doing.

I have been going to the Beach Vet Clinic for over 10 years.
Dr. Jade and Dr. Crit are the best doctor's and the staff are so
knowledgeable and friendly.
They really do care about you and your pets. They treat your pets like they are their own. Dr. Jade never gave up on treating
my Aussie and because of her efforts I am able to enjoy having
Smokey with me. I also have a cat that they are treating and Meg is still with me because of them.
If you are in need of good doctors, caring, and knowledgeable
staff, cleanliness, and genuine, warm people then look no further, you have all of that & more at The Beach Veterinary Clinic.

ok;,our pets have been going here for quit some time , the vets are fantastic and very caring , the front desk and / or office staff, that's another story ,incompetent is only word that comes to mind , this is second time this year we have brought our yorkies in for grooming , vaccinations ect , both times we have caught vaccination errors , (good thing we keep records) this time we brought one in for a grooming ,we received a post card saying he needed only bordetella ,when we arrived they told us he needed several vacinnations, which of course we questioned ,the girl on the computer looked it up and CONFIRMED he only needed bordetella and distemper and they will fix it right away , when we returned, we were handed a bill for several other vaccinations that he had already had this year (at his annual), they were also the same vaccinations/tests that the girl on the computer just stated she had corrected, right in front of us!! , naturally we spoke to the owner (vet) and he credited most of it back, but rather than understand the seriousness that such errors can either make an animal seriously sick or cause death ,he made excuses for his computer system and office staff, I CALL BS (they have our cell and could have called at anytime ), are these animals being over vaccinated for profit or just cause his staff is incompetent ? either way; if any of your pets have been sick or god forbid passed away from vaccination's given here, please review your records just incase it was an error on there part , again we have all our dogs records and this makes the second time we caught this, yet and he still received vaccinations he did not need !!! so disappointed cause we really like this vet but our dogs are like are kids and wont risk there lives

Awful

Took my dog to beach vet for boarding. They got me for $202. Didn't give me my dogs rabies tag, he didn't need the rabies shot for another year. My dog is now sick with kennel cough, and they want an additional $50. What a joke. Back to DeSoto Animal Clinic. Should of never strayed. Great Customer Service let me tell you!

I have taken my animals to Beach Vet for several years now. Not only are they professional but they take the time to get to know your animal and its personality, I know that I can ask Dr Berglund what my options are and he will tell me what is best. They have saved the lives oof two of my cats and one of my dogs. I NEVER have a problem getting an appt. Yes, the bill is always more than I want to pay but I will NOT sacrifice care and knowledge for a cheaper bill. I trust my animal's lives to the vets and the team at Beach Vet and will continue to do so. Additionally, I have to thank Dr Berglund for his time and his commitment to the No Kill Movement in Manatee County. He has not once turned away from an animal in need of help.

Great Place

I went here because of an emergency with my Chihuahua swallowing something. I called before I went and the person on the phone was very calm and kept me from getting more freaked out. When I arrived we were taken right back and the vet was very professional but friendly also. It all turned out okay in the end but the receptionists, vet techs and vet were great and I'd recommend it whether you are having an emergency or not.
