The Midland School is a nonprofit special education institution that serves social, emotional, academic and career education needs of children with developmental disabilities. It serves more than 250 developmentally disabled students from various public school districts in northern and central New Jersey counties. The school provides academic instructions in reading, language arts, social studies, math, science, social skills, independent living skills and career education. It also offers classes in music, arts, horticulture, general shop, and health and computer education. In addition, the school offers counseling and guidance department that assists students and parents on a variety of topics. The Midland School, founded in 1960, is located in Branchburg, N.J.
