Provided by YP.comI went to this place this evening and the food is just hopeless. This is not indian food at all. I got Chilli Chicken and it is just like Popcorn chicken from KFC and they are way too expensive. I checked prices on some other indian restaurants they are way cheaper than this price and i need to try the other.

Provided by SuperpagesI am Indian, My name is Ashish Pandey, I am Basically from Mumbai ,india and I regularly have Indian food outside. I've been to other Indian restaurants in the area and had a decent experience ,I wanted the best Indian food for my wedding because my Wife's parents are from India and we picked in this Indian Restaurant in down town because we have tried many Indian restaurants and we found this restaurant to be the best amongst the lot. The on site tandoor with exceptional decoration and live sitar and tabla music and buffet setup we loved it all. When we went to the restaurant to settle the bill we were asked to share our experience with others and I thought of writting on the net. I can not thank anymore when I told the owners to give special attantion because I want my mother in law to be impressed and she was really impressed and I am glad we picked this indian restaurant to cater the wedding. The customer service was great.

Provided by SuperpagesMy husband & I drive from Lakeland and enjoy the weekend buffet at least twice a month!! The food is delicious. We are particulary happy that we can get SPICY dishes. So many places call themselves "authentic this or that" and then the food is bland and uninteresting. We enjoy all the different exotic dishes and the "heat"!! But if you don't like things "hot", every dish is made to order and the buffet has plenty of milder dishes to choose from. I highly recommend this restaurant for the vast array of flavorful, exotic dishes. Lots of wonderful vegetarian choices as well and the decor is delightful. Really makes you feel "a world apart" ...like taking a mini vacation everytime we go! Service is friendly and professional. Way to go "Taste of India!!" Thanks for such a great restaurant, definitely worth the drive from most anywhere!

Provided by SuperpagesMost Indian restaurants suffer from lack of ambience. Usually it looks like a take-out eatery. But Taste of India is not the case. I was very impressed with the amount of decorations, painting, and artworks they had placed throughout the restaurant. The smell of incense at the doorway is reminiscent of well established Indian restaurants in New York. The service is excellent with the waitresses in their traditional saris and the food is cooked to perfection. They went through so much hard work to make sure that the individual who walks into their restaurant feels as if they traveled a great distance and entered an eating shop in India. With all these experiences, it will be a shock when you leave the restaurant and realize that you are still in Brandon, Florida.-BAV-

Provided by YP.comI have eaten at Indian restaurants in several countries, and growing up in England have been eating this type of food since I can remember! I now live in Lithia and was so happy to find Taste of India. The dishes here are some of the best I have ever sampled, and I have brought many of my British relatives to try the lunch buffet as wel as the the full menu.
Without exception everyone agrees that this place rules supreme as the Best Indian Restuarant in we have discovered in North America. Trust me I know a thing or two about this cuisine, as my father was part owner of a curry house when I was young. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Tikka Masals as your first experience, while it is probably the least authentinc dish (actually invented in Scotland in an Indian Rest.) it is exceptional.
If you dont enjoy spicy hot dishes there are plenty of mild options and a friendly staff to guide you through the process. Taste of India is the best in Brandon of any style. Try something new, live a little!

Provided by YP.comI love eating here. My friend, who is Indian, says it is the most authentic Indian restaurant that we have in the area. He introduced the restaurant to me a couple of months ago, and I have returned there several times. The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is very polite. The atmosphere is formal, but comfortable and not too pretentious. My fiance and I have only visited during dinner hours and we have always been very satisfied. They definitely give us our money's worth.

Provided by YP.comI have eaten Indian cuisine in dozens of cities across this country and can say with authority that the food populating the lunch buffet of this establishment was an insult especially considering the somewhat inflated price of $10. The de rigueur dishes of lamb and chicken curries and tandoori chicken were present though somewhat lackluster. It was in the vegetable dishes where Taste of India was severely lacking. Not a paneer cube in sight. Also absent were sag, mattar, or any kind of chickpea or lentil dish. Chutneys but no pappadam. And the greatest offense of all, some weird coconut soup-like curry with the odd tomato or carrot chunk and hard-as-a-twig segments of okra that I had to spit onto my plate. That is the ultimate offense, paying for the joy of expelling inedible chunks onto a plate. If you know what to expect from a good Indian buffet don't patronize this place because you will be scorned, that is unless you consider a steam tray full of peas and corn, a black-eyed pea curry, or some new potatoes to be worth $10. Come to think of it, it was kind of like Indian-Southern fusion, but were where the curried collard greens? Yeah, also, the first Indian buffet I've been to that had freaking potato salad. Whatever.

Provided by SuperpagesWalking in was like being back in India with the decorations and smell of their unique spieces. It tasted just like I remember. The lamb is amazing and the Chicken Tikka Musala tastes just like I had it when in Delhi. Service is so friendly and personable. Thank You All for a great experience!

Provided by SuperpagesConsidering all aspects of a restaurant, this one scores well. Nice location, good ambience, affluence of food varieties with inclusion of chat items, and a reasonable price. It reflects it's name only to a certain extent. It still has a long way to go to truly taste like authentic Indian cuisine. In essence, it earns 4.5 stars for the great effort!

Provided by SuperpagesI've tried every Indian restaurant in Tampa, this one is my favorite. Their buffet (especially on the weekends) is the largest in town. Their chicken tikka masala is fantastic. Their menu is huge, they have a gigantic variety of veggie dishes as well as chicken, lamb, and goat.
