The Brandon Inn is an historical B&B Inn, located on the village green in the center of downtown Brandon, Vermont. And just a short walk to local stores and restaurants. All 39 guest rooms on three floors have a private bathroom, a clock radio and WiFi access. Guest rooms have individual A/C units. The main living room has a wide-screen television and there is a public TV rooms on the second floor. The back lawns sweep down to the Neshobe River and there is an outdoor pool to cool off in or relax around. I've stayed here in the past with positive experiences. Which is why it pains me to have to complain here about their customer service and cancellation policy. Yesterday, I made a reservation for tomorrow night, and last night I learned I couldn't travel right now. I called first thing this morning to cancel, more than 24 hours advance notice. Most places only require you cancel by 6PM the night of your reservation. I was told that I would be charged $75 cancellation fee. When I asked what the minimum notice was, they said 20 days. Seriously??? They don't require 20 days advance reservation time. They are willing to take my money within 20 days, why won't they refund it if something comes up even more than 24 hours in advance? And $75? The room was only $119, I might as well have sold my reservation to someone on the street for $50 and made a profit. And the person on the phone was indignant that I wasn't pleased about this. What a scam.
