Our approach is to use sophisticated techniques to determine - with great accuracy - what a student knows and does not know. Next, we tailor a personalized and perscriptive learning program. Each student follows the program with the help of specially trained Mathnasium teachers who provide instruction - and lots of warm encouragement. For proof of progress, we rely on the student's report card, independent tests, and parent testimony, to measure the speed and magnitude of improvement in math skills, numerical thinking, and attitude.

Comprehensive Written and Oral Evaluation
Mathnasium students are given a two-part diagnostic test. The first is a written test to assess the student's strengths and weaknesses with respect to grade-level material. The second part is a series of oral questions, designed to assess the depths of the student's understanding of key math concepts.

Customized Program for Your Child
We use the results of our assessments to develop a learning plan that caters to the unique needs of the student. The students is guided by the Mathnasium teacher. The program focuses on both written and oral material. It also includes manipulatives and other teaching tools. Learning new concepts is balanced with practicing those that have already been learned. Kids "work out" once or twice a week or more, just like at a gym.

We believe your child's progress (and improved attitude) will be obvious to you. But we rely on third party proofs of progress: report cards and standardized assessments, provided by your child's school.

- Matnasium® Learning CenterMathnasium is a learning center where kids go after school to boost their math skills.We are highly specialized. We teach only math from grades K-12. Students attend once or twice a week, for about 1 hour. Like at a gym or health club, members can attend at their convenience. Our goal is to significantly increase your child's math skills, understanding of math concepts, and overall school performance, while building confidence and forging a positive attitude toward the subject.

- We offer a lounge area for the parents to wait on a comfortable couch and magazines to read. We also offer several games to quell anxiety in students and to create a fun, positive learning environment. We reward our students for completing tasks by giving them prizes after a certain number of assignments have been completed to mastery level. The goal is to make sure that they enjoy learning, so they are more willing to give their best effort.
