This is a functional medicine practice that strives to heal illnesses by discovering and addressing root causes. The medical staff have traditional training as well as additional training in functional medicine. They are much more informed about recent medical studies and methods. They use pharmaceuticals when necessary as well as various supplements, nutritional recommendations and lifestyle changes. I believe this is a great approach, especially for chronic conditions that traditional doctors lack knowledge of and tend to throw unnecessary drugs at the symptoms.
