The Bridgeport Fire Department is dedicated to serving the citizens of Bridgeport, Conn. Bridgeport is Connecticut s largest city, and is a port on Long Island Sound at the mouth of the Pequonnock River. The municipal organization provides professional response to fires, as well as medical and environmental emergencies and disasters. The Bridgeport Fire Department intends to create a safer community through its extensive participation in fire prevention, code enforcement and education for the public and department members. The organization s goal is to provide 24-hour emergency services for the protection of life and property within a four- minute response time frame.
