Not a bad clay range. It does suck when the wind is blowing because if your shooting solo it can set of the clay thrower with the sound of the wind howling in the speaker cone. I do think $9 a round is a bit pricy, but that's about what other places charge. The one down side is some of the other clay shooters there. I am a country boy, and take my 870 to shoot trap, and skeet. You have the guys there with $3,000 to $8,000 shotguns giving you dirty looks because you aren't shooting high end over unders, or you can hear some make snide marks about your shooting when in 6 hours they have only broke one clay. The place itself is not bad, but some of the other shooters are snobs.

This is the premiere gun club in the St.Louis area for shotgun sports. They don't have sporting clays but the trap and skeet fields are the best I've ever shot. There are 9 lighted combo fields. They are also home to a new youth trap team. The Gateway Gun Club Youth Shooters formed this winter and has 16 kids practicing every Saturday morning from 8:00 am. The Youth Shooters are a trapshooting team participating in 2 national programs, the SCTP and AIM. If your child is between the ages of 10 and 18 take a trip out there on Saturday morning and check the Youth Shooters out, you'll be glad you did!
