The philosophy of this program is to provide a loving, safe environment for your child to develop at his/her own rate. I will focus on helping each child grow physically, emotionally, socially and academically. I will offer a wide variety of activities for the children to explore together, to promote self-esteem and to teach love, trust and respect for themselves and others. It is my goal to communicate and work with parents to care for their child in a manner that is consistent with their parenting beliefs, within the guidelines of licensing laws. The curriculum of this program includes free play, guided activities, preschool time, art, drama, music and dance, toys, puzzles, games and books. Neighborhood walks, cooking and gardening are also activities offered frequently to provide the children with new experiences. I use the everyday experiences of meals, washing hands, clean up of play and rest areas, and conflict resolution to provide educational opportunities for the children. Reasonable tasks, limits, and expectations are presented. Positive feedback is given to foster self-esteem, using verbalization to enhance listening and speaking skills, and understanding the benefits of both group support and self-reliance.
