In 2015, Dr. Benjamin Schwartz was named the Regional Director of Obstetrics & Gynecology for the Northwell Health Eastern Region as well as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwell Health s Southside Hospital.In those roles, Dr. Schwartz oversees the inpatient and outpatient care for women in the Eastern Region and is Northwell s lead clinician for the development of our educational post-graduate programs including a new Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as a new Fellowship for Advanced Female Pelvic Surgery.A specialist in Gynecologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery, Dr. Schwartz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons.After graduating from Dartmouth College, Dr. Schwartz obtained his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and served as Administrative Chief Resident. During his residency, Dr. Schwartz completed a Galloway Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, NY. He then completed subspecialty training in a three year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
