Bristol Compressors develops products for original manufacturer applications and wholesale distribution in more than 50 countries throughout the world. In 1974 the construction of its nearly 600,000 square foot facility began in Bristol, Va., and in 1975 the first hermetic compressors were produced. In 1995, the company announced a partnership with Carlyle Compressors to operate Scroll Technologies in Arkadelphia, Ark., as a venture for the development and production of scroll compressors. It manufactures a line of hermetic and scroll compressors with energy efficiency levels from 8.2 to 12.0 that are used in domestic and commercial air conditioning and heat pump applications. Product capacities range from 13,000 to 294,000 Btu/hr, one of the largest ranges of hermetic air conditioning compressors available from one source. Product versatility allows customers to select compressors with the appropriate capacity, energy efficiency ratio and sound level that best fits their applications.
