Peets bought Caribou and closed down the local hangout that it had become, replacing it with a standard mall style coffee shop. After taking several weeks longer to reopen than planned and pushing most of the Caribou staff out the door with poor management they finally opened (sample of their approach: A manager told a 20-something employee that if they consider getting to their college classes more important then being barista maybe they should just leaves). I suppose I could settle in, they have a couple of comfy chairs and sufficient seating to work and drink coffee. One little problem: The coffee I was served was bitter, nasty dregs. I returned it and left. I will not be back.
