Cupid Pets is owned by a father-daughter team. Both Bruce and Kim are NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) trained and certified. Cupid Pets is insured, bonded and licensed in Virginia. Cupid Pets is insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas. Our pet sitters and dog walkers are independent contractors who undergo a background check which includes: a state criminal search, residency history, social security verification, and a nationwide sexual offender index search. Disqualifiers for hire by Cupid Pets on the background check results include any form of violent crime as well as any form of theft or shoplifting. All other results are carefully reviewed on a case-by-case basis before determining if an applicant is hired. Cupid Pets loves and cares for your pets as we do our own. We currently parent 5 pets including two rescue dogs: Scooby, a 12 year old 90 pound Lab-Rottweiler mix and Tango, a Pomeranian-Chihuahua puppy. We also own a cockatiel named Rick Ricardo and a sugar glider couple (Taz and Pumpkin). We are life-long residents of the DMV area. We had typical high stress, long hour, DC-area jobs. We both felt somewhat burned out from the corporate world in the transportation safety and health care industries. Kim also has direct experience in the dog walking and pet sitting business. So, why not start a family business doing what we love best caring for animals? Thus, Cupid Pets was born. We love what we do. We take our jobs seriously. We are honored that our clients trust us with their pets and their homes. We customize each visit to what you feel is best for your pets and we give them all of the attention and love you would, if you were at home. Our dog walkers and pet sitters are all experienced, mature adults that are true animal lovers.
