Provided by YP.comI had an excellent experience twice now. Because of financial reasons we were forced to order our kitchen in sections. Even with delivery of cabinets 6 months apart, we were thrilled with the results. In my last home I had totally custom cabinets. This time we wanted the look with out the 35,000 price tag. Unlike the former comments we ordered the stained and glazed cabinets and love how they turned out! Both times. Now we are ready to order the final section (the island) and cant wait to go back and orde the rest. Very fast turn around time. Couldnt be happier!

I oredered cabinets on August 29, 2012. I was told that it will be ready for about a week or a week and a half. It is now 9/12/2012 which is exactly 2 weeks. I called them spoke to the manager and he said. it will be available by 2 working weeks. Monday or tuesday 9/17-9/18. Well, that's not what RONNIE the sales guy told me. Offer no explanation nor an apology for the inconvinience. Meanwhile my project is on hold and I have to cancel my tile guys and I can't order the countertops unitl I have the cabinets. Shame on Builders Surplus! Thay don't deserve even a single star. BEWARE! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
I believe there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the date of delivery. After looking into this matter I realized that after the original order had been placed, you had decided to change a few things. We have no problem with that, and feel we worked diligently to get you the products that you carefully chose in a timely manner. When changes are made we try to expedite the order as quickly as possible, but we also have to take into account the time it takes to reorder the product and shuffle around with deliveries. Again, we have no problem accommodating any and all changes you may have. We understand remodeling is a very stressful time and we try to make it as easy as possible on the homeowners. Ultimately, we want you to be happy with your new kitchen. Please feel free to call with any questions and we appreciate your business.

Provided by YP.comWhatever money is saved versus buying from the Home Depots or Menards is not worth the aggravation. Remodeled kitchen. Bought Americana Capital Cabinets manufactured by Wellborn Forest. Middle of the road cabinets. We couldn't afford high end cabinets, yet we did not want the cheap ones. Originally wanted just a Honey Finish. Somehow salesman talked us into getting a Honey Finish with Chocolate Glaze for doors and drawer fronts. Had the chocolate glaze finish been consistent and looked good we would have stayed with it. Cabinets came looking like a 3 yo slapped the chocolate glaze on. Crappy looking with a crappy finish. No consistency in how it was applied. In some places very heavily applied, in others barely visible. Voiced our displeasure by calling and sending emails to company and cabinet maker. Salesman and cabinet rep came out and took a look at the doors. Unfortunately I had to rely on my 25 yo son to show what we received because I could not get away from work. Because I was not there, I don't think they took my concerns and complaints all that seriously. I tried to get the manufacturer to replace the doors and drawer fronts. After 2 weeks of repeated calls and emails, I finally got a reply on what the manufacturer would do. It would cost us $800 to replace the crappy glaze-finished doors/drawers for the same with just a honey finish. Supposedly the manufacturer was giving us a deal. By this time I was so ticked off I paid the $800 extra for what I should have gotten originally . . . quality cabinets. Two (2) weeks later, new doors and drawers. To add insult to injury, the manufacturer forget to send one door and one drawer front which meant another 2 week wait. One more insult . . . the door is not the exact size as what was specified. It's about 3/4" narrower than it should be. I'm going to leave it as is. I GIVE UP!!! I'm tired of dealing with Builders Surplus and I'm certainly tired of Wellborn Forest. In hindsight, instead of paying an additional $800, I probably should have taken Builders Surplus and Wellborn Forest to small claims court to at least get what we ordered . . . quality cabinets with a professional finish. Instead we got cabinets with decent build quality but with a TERRIBLE finish. Disappointed that Builders Surplus didn't seem to work very hard to fix the situation. Cost us an extra $800 out of our kitchen budget.
Here are the takeaways from our experience: Stay away from Wellborn Forest cabinets, especially anything with a chocolate glaze finish. Don't believe any salesman when they tell you it will look good. I'm really disappointed with Builders Surplus. I feel they did not fight hard enough for me as their customer.

Provided by YP.comThis place just opened up in Broadview about 1/2 away from a Home Depot. I wanted to go by after work one day and check out their prices for my home remodeling project. I think they will lose business to Home Depot because they close early during the week. Monday - Friday they are open from 9:00 am to 6:00pm. Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and they are closed on Sunday. They should remain open at least until 8:00 or 9:00 during the week if they want to compete with Menards and Home Depot.
