Kristin Lee Yonkers is first a dog lover, then a dog trainer. Working with pets since 2005, Kristin became a dog trainer to help improve the relationships that families have with their dogs in ways that support her force-free beliefs. Kristin became a Certified Dog Trainer through Animal Behavior College in June of 2009, an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Community Canine Evaluator and AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Instructor in April of 2010 and most recently Kristin has become a Certified Mentor Trainer for the Animal Behavior College Dog Training Program. Kristin is a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild and is working toward multiple certifications and affiliations. Kristin is constantly researching, practicing and attending continuing education seminars revolving around  the latest and greatest proven methods of gentle dog training. A proud mother of 2 young children, Kristin practices what she preaches when it comes to family responsibility. Kristin spends her free time volunteering for local shelters, providing community education opportunities to local schools and animal programs, as well as mentoring high school and college students who wish to begin a career in the animal world. Kristin believes that every home should have the pitter-patter of paws and that every dog should be a perfect member of their family. At a young age Kristin began questioning some of the archaic techniques used to train dogs. She sought out friendly and easy ways to train dogs and developed her curriculum around those techniques. Kristins methods use no force, no intimidation and no aversive techniques or tools.
