The Union 8th Grade Center provides a range of educational services for students. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, English, social studies and math. The center also offers special education programs for gifted and talented students. The Union 8th Grade Center provides the English Language Learners program. In addition, it operates a library and media center and offers food and guidance counseling solutions. The Center is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Union 8th Grade Center organizes football, volleyball, basketball and cross-country tournaments. It provides extracurricular activities in band and drama. The center also offers membership opportunities in the National Junior Honor Society. The Union 8th Grade Center maintains a student council and parent-teacher association, as well as homework, rotary and yearbook clubs. It is a part of Union Public Schools.
