David F. Briceño, MD, is Attending Physician at Montefiore and an Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus spans over a number of topics, including catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, the diagnosis and management of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, pacemaker therapy in management of bradycardias, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators for the prevention of sudden death, and the evaluation and treatment of genetically determined arrhythmia syndromes.Dr. Briceño obtained his medical degree from the University of Valle in Colombia. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science’s Center at Houston, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha – honor medical society. Dr. Briceño completed his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center, where he was the elected to be one of the chief fellows. After completing his first fellowship, Dr. Briceño completed a second fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he conducted remarkable research on atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.Dr. Briceño has an extensive research background, with more than 70 published works in leading high impact journals including more than 1,000 citations. Additionally, his work has been published in many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Briceño’s research expands his clinical focus in cardiac electrophysiology, among other topics.Dr. Briceño has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the National Board of Echocardiography and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
