Established by Edward O’Connor, O’Connor’s Carpet Center has been servicing the New York City area since 1972. In 1957, Edward migrated from Ireland. After serving in the Army, he became a US Citizen and settled in The Bronx, NY, where he started selling carpet from the garage of his small house. The business expanded to a point in 1972 where he opened a store in the Morris Park section of The Bronx. The good reputation of O’Connor’s Carpet Center grew quickly and the business became a household name in the nearby neighborhoods. By 1981, the business had to relocate to its current location due to the growing need for more space and greater neighborhood awareness. In the late 90’s, Edward’s youngest son, Keith, assumed the business and continues to run it today. As a second generation family owned business, Keith has taken the knowledge, drive and ethics, instilled in him by Edward, and expanded the business from residential work in The Bronx to residential and commercial work throughout the greater New York City area. While the core business is still prevalent, O’Connor’s Carpet Center also offers vinyl flooring, laminates, prefinished wood flooring, carpet cleaning and window treatments. The professional staff and expert installers at O’Connor’s Carpet Center look forward to at least another generation of serving the ever expanding areas surrounding NYC with all of your flooring needs.
