I just had an extremely bad experience using Pace Copy Center. You know when you feel like you are getting ripped off and that it is not the dollar amount but the principle of it that really creeps you out?

I sent them via email the other day, 20 something pages of B/W text in PDF format and they printed it for around $7. It was just twenty something regular 8x10 b/w on plain paper. Then I emailed them another single (1) page two days later and went in to pick it up and the women at the counter said, "TWO DOLLARS!". So let's say for argument sake that on the 20 I spent $0.40 per copy. Why is one copy a $1.40 more than the 20 copy rate. She said it wasn't a copy and that it was technically the same as if I had used the internet there, on their computer, for the minimium amount of time plus the prints. She was very particular in saying, "prints" and not copies. I am sorry Madame, but when I email you a digital file and you print it, you are printing me a copy. The words are interchangeble. I did not come to the store and create the document on their computer. It was a digital file. They printed me a copy. THat is all. I was expecting it to be about $.60 and just felt ripped off. To top it off, instead of them saying, "we gotta eat too", and admitting it was a gyp, they made it like it was standard policy and that I just didn't understand.

I am sorry. It was not clearly posted, that when you email a digital file to them to print, that it is the same as if I had came in and used the computer in their lobby. And they are poor business people because when I made a stink about it, they should said, "on the house". It was one b/w copy. I had spent about $20 in there already this week and since Staples closed I need a handy print shop that is not goint to take advantage of me for one print. ok charge me $.40 or sixty cents, but $2.00 for one sheet. Common. that is taking advantage of someone. I spoke to the owner and he stuck to the story. That that is what you pay for one print. Just try to suck out as much money out of someone as you can and hope the person never comes back. Great business model. Rude Foreigners that cut their nose to spite their face.
