P.S. 226 is a learning center that is affiliated with The New York City Department of Education. It offers educational classes to more than 430 students in prekindergarten through grade four. The school has educational and business alliances with the Bronx Zoo and Bronx Arts Ensemble. P.S. 226 supports various programs, such as Reading Recovery and English as a Second Language. In addition, the school organizes guided reading, literacy inquiry and research, extended-day, Saturday school, academic intervention, and tutorial and enrichment programs. Located in Bronx, N.Y., P.S. 226 also maintains an art club and a chorus.
