This is in response to review below. Though this order took place a while ago I still remember it clearly.

First i'd like to apologize, though I was still a very new business owner I thought the professional thing to do was to call the customer when things went wrong.

It wasn't the top layer of the cake the collapsed but the base. That's why I was unable to fix it in the amount of time i had left. Once again I was new to this business and only received cakes every once in a while so I was only stocked to do that cake. It was after the store had closed correct and I was unable to get more supplies.

Upon telling the customer this she began to curse me out and tell me how this seems to happen every time she orders a cake. Though upset at being cursed out I apologized profusely. Since I was not able to restock supplies immediately I offered full refund.

The next morning I called her as soon as the stores opened and offered to make her another cake of simpler design for half the price so that she would not be without a cake for her party. She politely refused and came to pick up her payment. I apologized again said thank you and that was it.



I'm not upset by the negative review I just thought it would be best to put my side also. I hope this doesn't deter and future customers from ordering with the crumb canvas. I ordered a cake from this "business owner" for my sisters 14th birthday. The cake I ordered was a cake in the shape of a cheeseburger as well as 2 dozen cupcakes I sent photos of the cake numerous times and was assured that my cake could be made. My final payment was paid in full 5 days prior to the event which was supposed to take place on August 31, 2013. While decorating the night before the event, mind you it was after 10pm, I realized I had a missed call and noticed that they had left a voicemail, it was from the baker. She said she would not be able to make my cake because while she was decorating it the top layer collapsed. She informed me that I could receive my cupcakes and be refunded for the birthday cake. I told her that if she is running a business then my order is supposed to be filled. If she was unable to make the cake I originally ordered then she is supposed to make sure I have a product at the end. She then informed me that She had no materials left at all to any cake and that she couldn't do it. I then told her to cancel my order for the cupcakes as well and that I wanted a refund for my entire order. That morning she texted me saying she would make a smaller cake for me. I said no thank you and picked up my refund so that I could find someone who would make my cake by that afternoon. It was very unprofessional how she handled this incident and I would never order from her again or recommend her to anyone I know. The crumb canvas doesn't even get one star from me, that's too much
