Provided by YP.comMy experience with this agency has been terrible right from the start. My interview with Sara Gluck was scheduled at 2PM. I was there until a quarter to four watching her talk on the phone, walk around and speak to co-workers and do work at her desk while I watched and waited for her. Not once did she come over and introduce herself and I never did get the chance to interview with her. Finally one of her co-workers felt badly for me and just handed me my assigned work site as a certified nursing assistant at a nursing home. To be clear, I have absolutely no problem with the site that I was assigned to: Workman's Circle, they were absolutely wonderful and I would work there again in a heartbeat. The employees there are professional and courteous.
However, even in the first couple of weeks I had problems getting my paycheck issued to me and I had to go all the way back into the office to have the matter settled. As I was having the matter of my check settled one of the employees doing payroll was screamed at in front of everyone and promptly fired. I don't know if she was fired because she had messed up with my paycheck or because of some other reason and I felt really badly for this employee because that is not the way you treat your employees EVER and I also felt like it was my fault. Either way that is not the way you deal with the termination of an employee regardless of the situation. If you work for them, make sure that you keep track of the hours and days you work so that you have proof later on.
After a month and a half I was offered a job for a higher level position and for better pay. I hadn't heard anything about that job offer for awhile so I thought I did not get the position and received word suddenly that I had been offered the position and would be starting the next week. That gave me time to give the agency a week's notice, which I did the minute I found out. I was scheduled to work three more shifts and was told to only come in for one, which I did. I was to be paid for 14 hours the next week, directly deposited into my bank account just as my checks had been for the last four weeks. However that never happened. I contacted the agency no less than five times to have the issue resolved and I was given the run-around. I was told that payroll would be calling the bank and checking to see what happened and they would call me back. They never called me back, so I called them. Suddenly no one wants to speak with me. I was transferred several times and any time I asked for a voicemail box I got one that was already full. The staff was always very, very unprofessional when I called. They have no business etiquette and even less manners. I asked for an email address for either Sara or for someone in payroll. They told me they don't have any email addresses for them. I said really, you don't have an email address for any of your employees? Nope. This, I think may be true, however, as on their business card their email address is listed as: [email protected] and when you attempt to send an email there it does not work. Also, if you go to their website www.advancedmedicalstaff.com and try to use the "Contact Us" email form that does not work either. I find it very suspicious that a company would deliberately keep the public and its employees from emailing them. For what reason? So, as of yet I still have not received my paycheck. But, even more importantly than that I would like to offer a warning to any potential employees that might go to this agency in search of employment: Please think twice before accepting any job offer from them. They have been nothing but completely unprofessional to me and I would like to save any current nursing graduates from the headaches that I have been through. Good luck in your job hunt!!!!
