Operational for more than 50 years, Lifespire is a nonprofit association that offers a range of health care services for individuals with developmental disabilities. With more than 1,000 people, it accepts Medicaid health plans. The association assists in the development of vocational and job acquisition skills. It provides rehabilitative, therapeutic, employment assistance and individualized support services. Lifespire provides Screening and Placement for Aging-out Consumers, which is a referral service sponsored by the Agency for Children's Services (ACS). It also administers educational programs related to physical and psychological abuse, seclusion and mistreatment. The association participates in various carnivals, concerts, fashion shows and food events. It serves more than 4,500 individuals in over 55 locations in New York City. The association s clients include printers, stationers, paper manufacturers, giftware suppliers and advertising agencies.
