I wish I could give zero stars. They arrived a half hour late. When it became time to pay them, I was handed a written receipt. He did his calculation wrong and I had to correct it for him. Then he almost left without taking the money! So unprofessional.

Then, they constantly lied about the delivery date. The date of my delivery was changed four times, and I have yet to receive it. Once they even said that they received my delivery address a week and a half after they picked it up! Obviously that was a lie because my delivery address was on the receipt they first handed me when they picked up my stuff. When I asked why it kept getting delayed, first he said there were "road issues," to which I said "road issues shouldn't delay my delivery by over a whole week" to which the guy responded by saying "Oh yea, the truck broke down. They have to fix the truck." Obviously he was just fumbling for excuses. The saga continues, I hope my stuff arrives okay. Please never use this service.

If there were zero stars as a choice, that's my choice.

I was told I probably had between 200 and 300 cubic feet of stuff…which would cost at worst $900, and that the truck leaves the NY area every Tuesday, and arrives in Florida by Thursday or Friday of the same week.

Before we left, they scraped the front of my monitor.

They tagged every box, rug, and whatever miscellaneous stuff wouldn’t fit in a box, and put it on a box truck. The bill of lading that listed all the numbers of the items they had tagged. I had to give them half the estimated cost, or $450, before they left. (Plus a tip for each of the 3 men.)

The stuff did NOT leave on Tuesday, not until the following Tuesday. My stuff was delivered 20 days from the time they picked it up.

The truckers would not begin the unloading until I gave them the full amount, which turned out to be $1650, although Barry was ‘giving me a discount’ and I only had to pay $1500. Lovely. I knew I could have a problem when they pulled in a mattress that was not mine, and asked where it goes.

Shortly after they left, I realized my living room rug was not here. I looked for 3 boxes that contained valuable stuff, and magically, they were gone, too. Somehow the boxes with valuables did not arrive.

When I signed the Bill of Lading before they left, I clearly wrote in large letters that the computer monitor, and an antique clock were missing.

Barry totally blew me off about everything! My lawyer sent him a letter, listing my losses, and he never responded. It appears he knows that it is near impossible to prove my stuff wasn’t delivered.

I contacted the driver of the delivery truck, and offered him a $300 reward for the return of a particular box. Magically, he was able to find it. The next day, the box was brought to me, obviously opened, and 1/3 empty. My valuables weren’t in it.

The upshot of this whole ridiculous story is this: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE EVEN CONSIDER USING BARRY’S MOVING COMPANY. I can present the truth as it went down and this is it. You can decide for yourself!

This place is horrible! The owner quoted my mother one price, when his workers arrived, they quoted another. They did not allow my mother to help take items downstairs, which delayed the work and thus increased the price. They were extremely slow and rude. Initially they claimed they were lost and that also delayed the moving. When they finally arrived to the new apartment, they no longer wanted to unload the truck unless they received more money. My mother had to threaten to call the Police. Due to this my mother still has not fully moved. BBB will be contacted and we are in the works of contacting small claims court to retrieve the extra money that she had to spend on another company.

-The only reason they received one star is because this site would not allow me to give them zero.

They came an hour later and then broke a piece of furniture. They tried to claim they said something to me before they moved my tv stand but they didn't. After they moved it in and I place the same TV that was on there for a year, broke! They refused to pay for damages!

I have never experienced custo...

I have never experienced customer service as worse as what Barry's Moving company has provided me. Though Barry's friendly in person and over the phone, he has not actually kept any of his promise or deliver my goods!

I hired Barry to move three pieces of furniture (a queen sized bedframe, mattress and a dresser) and 11 medium boxes from Queens, NY to Dallas, TX. My items were picked up on 7/31 and I was given a time frame of about 15 days to 3 weeks for my goods to be delivered. I can understand that the company did not arrange a special trip or job just for me and it is one of the many destinations that the truck is making, however, when I called after the 15th day just to get an update, I have not actually gotten an answer from anybody. I have been calling between 1~2 times a day since the 15th day just so I can hear from someone. Believe me, I'm not expecting a miracle to happen and I definitely did not have high expectations when I hired Barry, but what I did expect was some sort of a response from someone or ANYONE to let me know approximately WHEN my things will arrive. This so that I can arrange time off to be home to open the door and pay the company.

Barry has promised me that he would call me back but I have not received a call from him. I seem to hear the same response over and over again "Amy, I'm really sorry about it but I'm really busy. I will call you back to let you know" This is not an acceptable response I would expect from any company. When I asked if I could contact the actual driver (Serge) and got him on the phone, his response was "call me back tomorrow. I'm not in the office right now so I don't have your information." It has been exactly 31 days since last saw my boxes and my bed. I wonder if I will actually get them or if they are lost forever with Barry's Moving Company, along with my partial payment.

Think thrice before you hire this company to move you across the country. Make sure to do your research first!

Professional & Great

I came across this company out of pure desperation because another company stood me up and couldnt have been more happier. Barry was able to schedule me a last minute move. He was on point and very friendly to speak with. His guys were on time and ready to go. Cared for all of my mechandise nicely and made sure everything was done properly. They were very respectful and the not only that his flat rate pricing was the lowest I found out of about 50 companies that I called. This is the first time I've ever rated something but just felt like everyone needed to know how great a company this is.
