Provided by YP.comI wanted to give this place zero stars to balance out the incredibly over-the-top reviews, but they wouldn't let me.
This place obviously is good in some regard or it couldn't have gotten such a high rating. But for me, it was an awful experience. The only person who made me feel welcome is the cute, friendly, sparkly blonde who washed my hair.
Poling (NOT Pauline, as one reviewer stated) is a terrible, terrible haircutter. I told her exactly what I wanted. I showed her with my hands. I described with my words. When she repeated back something that sounded unlike what I just described, I corrected her and asked her to clarify and repeat. There must have been a language barrier. Then she started cutting my hair. She chopped off over two inches more than I wanted her to, TWO WEEKS before my brother's wedding. I lost over 8 inches of hair. Hair doesn't grow that fast, Poling!!!
I walked out with a short, blunt haircut, reminiscent of a bowl cut I would have gotten at age 7. There was NO style and NO shape to it AT ALL. Even friends and family agreed I looked awful. I walked in my front door and cried for two hours. I woke up that night in a cold sweat, thinking of all the people I'd have to explain my terrible haircut to - including my brother's bride.
When I called and described my misery to the owner, he was unsympathetic and disengaged. I had to make all of the suggestions. I came in for a consult with Rafael. Neither he nor the owner did anything to make me feel even REMOTELY better... didn't really make any suggestions on how to fix the cut, didn't seem sympathetic to the fact that my hair had been ruined, and I certainly didn't feel confident that he'd be able to do anything more than further destroy it and my self confidence.
I honestly can't figure out how an owner who is so avoidant and meek has started a buiness that's even remotely successful. If you go, for the love of god, don't go to Poling. I got my money back and I'll never go back again.
