Dr. Laura Frado is an experienced, compassionate gastroenterologist who offers high quality personalized care for patients at New York Gastroenterology Associates, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and she is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her professional passions include colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional bowel disease, and general hepatology. While skilled in state-of-the-art techniques of colonoscopy, Dr. Frado also has extensive training managing complex gastroenterological issues involving the liver, esophagus, stomach, small and large bowel. After obtaining her undergraduate degree in biology in the honor’s program at Boston College, Dr. Frado received a Master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University followed by earning her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Frado completed her internship and residency at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital and continued her medical education at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital completing her gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Known for her wide-ranging research, Dr. Frado has presented her award-winning work at national meetings. She is an active member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, American Gastroenterology Association, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Frado is passionate about patient education and strives to include her patients in the medical decision making process. While committed to providing the best possible care to each patient, she believes strongly in treating the whole patient to better understand and resolve their health concerns.
