My experience with Rich Nacmias – his brother, Jack, now owns his own separate auto repair business, also on Coney Island Avenue – and Rich's crew was totally different from the one articulated by silentghost seven years ago. Everyone who worked on my car was completely professional and cordial. I was not overcharged and no one tried to sell me anything, whether a service or product, that I had not asked for in the first place. Jack even brought out chairs for my wife and me so we could sit comfortably in the lounge next to the service area and watch TV while waiting for the work that was done!

Prices are high. They nickel and dime you on everything, itemizing work and labor separately down to a few drops of brake cleaning fluid they use. Do you really need to charge $4 for a few drops? For that price, why not give me the rest of the bottle? I can buy a bottle new from Strauss Auto down the block and still go home with spare change. Work quality is all right, but when you realize where you're money is going exactly, it's disgusting.



Their sales pitch is insulting. They talk to clients like clients are children. Perhaps Jack Nacmias and his mechanics are knowledgeable, but their target client base appears to be the lowest common denominator. I don't like being insulted when spoken with as if I don't know anything about my car. In addition, be careful if Jack tries to pull a fast one on you. He may do something 'extra,' charge you for it, then clear the charge as if it was complimentary. The extra service likely something he shouldn't have charged you in the first place.



The only reason I'm glad for having made this first visit is so I know without a doubt I'll never have to make another one again. And I won't be at a lost whatsoever. If anyone considers visiting this place, good luck. Don't fall for Marketing 101 tactics!
