Sofya Pintova, MD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology and Medical Oncology) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Pintova is an active clinician, specializing in Gastrointestinal Oncology at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Brooklyn. She treats patients with gastrointestinal cancers, including but not limited to colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer, and cholangiocarcinoma, and conducts clinical trials aimed at improving outcomes for patients with these cancers. Dr. Pintova is also investigating factors that impact goals of care discussions with patients who have advanced cancers. Dr. Pintova is involved in training medical oncology and surgical oncology fellows, emphasizing the importance of continuity of care, and is a regular lecturer on gastric cancer and pancreatic cancer. Dr. Pintova has authored a Mount Sinai Expert Guide on gastric cancer as well as numerous peer reviewed publications.
