This is worst place I have been.MyMoMgot stuck here for9mons.1 day I come in and the place is busy&nurses r workingfor the 1sttime in6mons I saw ppl in the p.t.room. my mom then tells me she heard the nurses say"looks like we have to work for the next three days", so I look into what the hell is going on. there was an inspection. So I let them know&sadly they weren't surprised. If they would give1/10the effort they did those4days the place would improve.1yr later mom is still tryin2recover from a bone infection&bed sore due to lack of care. The only
reason they have patients is nurses put family there.I saw feces and urine on thefloor.if it weren't 4 $ I would of got my mom out sooner. They went to her hosp room &tried to get her to come back! The nurses hung up on me.All they cared about was$,they tried to get power of attorney on my mom thru courts to keep her.she was only 52 and of sound mind so they failed.Icould go on for hours.please don't do this to someone you love.RUN from here!!

Awesome caring staff

I was a resident at Heron point from June ofof 2011 until October of 2011. when I arrived here. I was depending on oxygen with a trach, and I was unable to stand on my own or walk. I think God that He placed me in a loving, skilled facility with a class A staff. When I left Heron Pointe in October, I walked out and I no longer had a trach. Today,I am fully recovered and am no longer

DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE

I did not have a good feeling when I pulled into the parking lot then when I walk to the doors it was confirmed the place stunk when I found my love one sitting in a wheelchair.as i gave him a kiss i could tell that his hygene care was lacking big time!! the response time for a nurse was slow. If your thinking of this place, think twice.

The people at heron point on all levels were very caring and nice people. My father spent his last days here and everyone was so kind and willing to help not only him but myself. I could not have been happier with his care here. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone for their loved one!

Excellent Service by a caring staff

I had the opportunity to tour this facility recently as I am looking for a place to bring my mother down from New York to live closer to me.

The staff was friendly, caring and showed true interest in my wants and needs for my mother. The receptionist was friendly, the admissions person was very helpful and the administrator took the time to listen to my concerns about placing my mother in a nursing home.

She will be coming down next month to live here and while I toured two other facilities I chose Heron Pointe because I could tell they really cared about my needs.

Others reconmmended I tour several before I made my decision and there were no smells, odors or any patients that looked unhappy. They are also five star rated as they had a sign displayed on their building. You can't get any better that that.

Wonderful people

I was shocked to read the previous review...my mother and father were both at seperate times at Heron Pointe for rehabilitation after surgery and both times they were treated with care and compassion. I couldnt believe the one on one approach from the therapy team and the care from the nurses...Going into a facility is never easy and can be quite scary but my parents and our family were treated as if we were a part of there family...most of the staff has been there for years and seem to treat each other like family...I highly recommend this facility and hope that you will go in and see for yourself the caring attitude in the building.

DO NOT SEND A LOVED ONE HERE!

Heron Pointe is an absolutely disgusting facility. It is dirty, dingy, and some of the staff are very arrogant. They neglect nutritional needs, hygienic and medical care. I would not even bring my dog there, that's how appaling this place is. Most patients are kept in rooms with doors closed, restrained to their beds, and sedated. They fully strip the patients of any and all dignity. We were told that out loved one is "hopeless" because they are in their 80's? Thats wrong! With medical technology that we have available to us today, I do not consider a previously healthy 80 year old with no previous health concerns to be "hopeless." We were lured into this facility due to participation with our insurance company. At that point, we would have been better being insured only by medicare or medicaid than to have a supplemental plan. BUT please, do NOT send anyone that you love or care about to this dump, it'll only break your heart to see the amount of abuse and neglect that occurs in this place.
