I recently went to the Arvada home depot to inquire about a replacement thermostat for my heating/AC system. A home depot employee recommended that I install a Honeywell WiFi unit costing $149.00. The3 agent also said that it would be perfectly compatible with my 15 year old Lennox system.I read the installation instructions carefully and also went to the recommended "wifithermostat" site for a connection tutorial. Apparantly, my heating system is incompatible with the unit Home Depot sold me. After 4 hours of sifting thropugh their tutorial unsucessfully I decided to contact a H/VAC specialist. The technician said the unit Home Depot sold me was not the correct unit for my system and that it could never be installed corfrectly because the THERMOSTAT wiring is INCOMPATIBLE. Needless to say I was livid over Home Depots service center agant and his BAD advise. So, to recap, home depot dispensed incorrect advise that invariably cost me over 4 hours of my time and $140.00 for a qualified technician to inform me that I purchased the wrong thermostat. These guys are absolute undertrained idiots.John Siri

Wish I could say the same about contractor and large orders. I've spent about $15,000 in the last 6 months and the service level has been terrible. I guess HD only values small orders, go figure. I am still waiting to have them sort out a window that was made totally out of square and as a result will not function. BEWARE also online home depot will more than often give you a better price than their contractor bid room. A whirl pool tub came in $400+ cheaper online than the bid room contractor price. They use the excuse that they cannot look up online??? I have never dealt with such an unprofessional outfit as this store, and cannot believe thay treat their contractors (who put in large orders with them) with such distain. I will buy elsewhere where ever possible. They have cost me a fortune in contractor fees to sort out their mistakes.
