The Brownsville Academic Center is an alternative education institution that offers a range of learning opportunities for students in grades 6 through 12. The center conducts classes in special education, social studies, mathematics, English and Spanish. It maintains a library, as well as supports an accelerated reader program. The Brownsville Academic Center also provides group, individual, and family counseling and related social services. The center offers instruction in psychology, art, history and economics. It additionally supports the Performance Training Program, which is a boot camp. The Brownsville Academic Center provides research-based reading intervention services. The center is governed by the Brownsville Independent School District.
