I had my child at this school for five years. It was the worst mistake I have ever made. The teachers are great but the curriculum is not. This school is academically behind other private schools. After fifth grade I took my son to, another private school for sixth. He was academically two years behind the school I placed him in. The new Principal was amazed at what he was not taught at the new school. His grades were great but when I mentioned First Baptist Curriculum the school was behind the curriculum of his new school. What type of education did I pay for during his five years at FBS?



Other problems, if you do not pay the registration fee your child is thrown out without any type of notification. The school secretary is very rude to some parents, misplaces important paper work (from what other parents have told me), does not notify you of important information (my experience), looses the students school lunch and your child is not feed during his/her lunch time (my child’s experience), you will never be notified if your child is sick or hurt and there are not enough computers in the lad for every child (my child’s experience). My own child was always upset that some did not get to use the computers because there were not enough. There is also no school Nurse despite the fact school tuition and fees go up every year. The only children that are treated fairly are the children of faculty and staff at First Baptist School. Something my child and fellow classmates at First Baptist would point out to me and other parents; even though we already knew this from our observations.



This school does not have a foreign language class, science lab for the elementary students and do not offer any type of clubs like chest, etc. The classrooms are small, hot and old. The playground is small and there are often loose dogs in there. The gym is decent but the rug is as old as the building.



It is your choice what school you choose for your child/children. Everything mentioned was my experience and my opinion of the school. My child and I are happy to be at a school where each student has their own computer, has a science lab, will learn a foreign language, goes on field trips every year (my child only went to three in the five yrs. my child was at FB), and has multiple clubs to join. All students are treated the same and the school is clean and the classrooms are big. Why was I not smart enough to put him at this new school five years ago!!! At least my child is at a great school now and HAPPY.
