None, actually. but could not resist the offer rate the site. I live on the north shore of Sheepscot Lake, and have since 1990 when I retired from U.S.D.A. There was a time the when Salmon abounded and their bellies were full of smelt. "Alas" The little frogs faded away, then the little minnows along the shore and the "deep water" smelts too. Climate change and acid rain have warmed and bleached the Lake of any sign summer phytoplankton. The water is now so clear that one can count one's toes while standing waist deep.

I cannot help but recall an old "Vermontism" from many years ago. "Not all motion is necessarily progress"

It seems to me that all the fuss over Sheepscot Lake and the Sheepscot River is nothing more than an exercise in beating a dead horse. It is the phytoplankton - Stupid!
