Dr. Esson is an excellent psychologist. He will tend to administer psychological tests to you early in the treatment to give him an idea of where you stand, and he is an expert in the standard MMPI... he is very good about returning calls, which is a significant issue if you are currently in a crisis situation. He is in practice by himself, so as his patient you tend to get his full attention as opposed to other Clinical Psychologists who are heading group practices consisting of counselors, clinical social workers and psychology assistants and have quite a bit of their attention devoted to supervision and management of the the other staff.
