Provided by YP.comI am absolutely overwhelmed & exhausted from how I’ve been treated the past several months from the staff at BVWC. When I walk in, I feel like it’s a factory pumping out babies. I’m not sure why these women bring their husband, cousins, & eight children to their pap smear appointments, but it’s absolutely uncomfortable for other women who are just trying to have a simple doctor’s appointment. The waiting office is a playground for unsupervised children running around. Like most adult doctor offices, I suggest that BVWC implements a policy (& enforces it) where unattended children are not allowed. Respect other women’s privacy, & BVWC should strongly enforce that! I will say that they made my Nexplanon implantation a positive & smooth experience, and the nurse practitioner was amazing. Later, I was having painful reactions to the Nexplanon & I wanted to speak to a doctor face to face about it, but the office staff would constantly pressure me into settling with just talking to a nurse. Doing so ended up getting me prescribed on pills that only made me sick. Next, I had an appointment last Tuesday where I was told that I would have results by Friday at the latest. Instead of reaching out to their patients as a professional office staff should & inform them of a delay in results, I had to call them about my test results myself. I find it unprofessional that the doctor gave me false information about testing. I was told by the nurse trying to find my test results that the lab will have results by this past Saturday. It is now Monday (almost closing time) and I’ve called multiple times trying to figure out the test results. Nurse Melissa copped a major attitude with me just a few minutes ago on the phone when I was trying to explain the necessity of knowing the results. I’m extremely disappointed in how this office has made me feel neglected and ignored. I can’t believe I have to demand test results by threatening to report to the medical board. Absolutely repulsive.

Provided by YP.comIf you want compassion and understanding go somewhere else! Every time I call in with questions or concerns The first question asked is if we have had sex in the last week. I say no and their response is it's normal we will see you at your next appointment. Last night We want to ER for bleeding and we were told to do a follow up with the ob. I called to set it up and was reprimanded for going to the wrong ER! I'm sorry, we went to the closest one because we've never done this before! I had to call and get my records because " they don't work with THAT ER" sent records and was told if they were concerned they would call me. What about my concerns??? I'm just income I guess not a person.

Provided by YP.comI am very disappointed in Dr. Acker specifically. My daughter had been a patient of the BVWC for many years since she was 14 years old and suffered with an eating disorder, depression and anxiety. We always had a good experience with all the staff there until she returned to the clinic to seek treatment for severe anxiety when she was 20 years old. Dr. Acker was overseeing her meds and my daughter missed several appointments because she couldn't get a ride and she was having panic attacks so bad that she didn't feel comfortable driving herself. Without even giving her any kind of warning, Dr. Acker "fired" her as her patient. That wouldn't bother me so much as I personally don't think she did anything but make my daughter worse by prescribing very addictive drugs that took her over a year to taper off of. The problem is, not only did she "fire" her as her patient, she fired her from the entire practice. My daughter was very young and inexperienced and didn't realize that she could lose her patient status with Dr. Acker. The only dietician that has ever been helpful to her and that she feels comfortable with is at the BVWC and now she can't see her anymore. Dr. Acker was fully aware of my daughter's history and her problems with anxiety (she was prescribing meds for it) and she has absolutely no compassion or concern that she is basically denying her the help that she needs. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
