This was the absolute best meal I have had this past year!



The waiter, Pedram, brought out some complementary pita bread. The bread was warm and soft, yet crispy on the edges. With it, he brought out the yogurt I ordered, Mast-O-Khear (cucumber, mint, salt, thick yogurt). The combination of the warm bread with the salty, thick yogurt was incredible--a delight to any sophisticated palate!



A little later he brought out the soup I ordered (Osh) which was warm and hearty, with noodles, beans, vegetables and spices. The Osh had a most gentle yet fragrant flavor. For the main course I ordered a combination of the Kabab Barg and the Jeujeh Kabab (tender Filet Minon Shish Kabob and tender boneless Chicken Shish Kabob). The meat was so tender it melted in my mouth. The rice served with the main course was so warm and fluffy. With the rice, Pedram brought out an optional red spice called Somagh that when sprinkled atop the rice gave it a delicious sour taste. I also ordered the dough (yogurt soda) which was salty yet refreshing.



I have to say that the service was exemplary. Pedram was so kind and gracious with his perfect suggestions.



For dessert I ordered Persian rose ice cream. The chunks of cream amidst the soft homemade, hand-churned rose ice cream was so imaginative that I'm going back for more tomorrow and bringing my family! Pedram offered the most elegant Persian tea after our meal which we enjoyed with sugar cubes while admiring the decor.



The main painting on the wall was hand painted by the owner's kids, creating a loving atmosphere. I will be returning to The Mediterranean Grill soon, a place that makes you feel like you are eating a home cooked meal and that you are part of the family.
