The Wright County Sheriff s Office provides crime prevention and traffic and law enforcement services. The department intervenes in cases of theft, robbery, burglary, sexual assault, serious crime and narcotics trafficking. It conducts investigations, gathers evidence, and interviews suspects, victims and witnesses. It responds to emergency and nonemergency calls for service. The Wright County Sheriff s Office operates patrol, corrections, civil process, criminal investigation and recreational enforcement units. The department has a corrections unit that houses more than 100 inmates. It also operates K-9, underwater recovery and accident reconstruction units. In addition, it has an emergency response team that operates during hostage situations and terrorist attacks. The department s community services division offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. The Wright County Sheriff s Office is headquartered in Buffalo, Minn.
