The PS 61 Early Childhood Center offers a range of academic activities for the enhancement of reading and writing skills. The center enrolls more than 550 students in pre-kindergarten through grade four. It offers classes in math, science, physical education, computer technology and social studies. The PS 61 Early Childhood Center provides guidance counseling and speech therapy programs. In addition, the center operates music, art and foreign language departments. It features a library that maintains a selection of books and reading and reference materials. The PS 61 Early Childhood Center is governed by Buffalo Public Schools, which manages several elementary, high and adult education schools.
