This is a very good credit union. Their cashiers and staff are very friendly and will work with you on things (e.g., hold times on checks, overdraft fees, loans, collections, etc.) if you have a problem or concern. Although EMFCU is a community credit union, located on Rt. 5 in Blasdell, NY, they also have a branch office at the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) in Buffalo, NY, which is very convenient (and good for people who work at ECMC but live outside Buffalo, they and their family members can join and then can use either of the offices when needed). They have a lot of promotions with local businesses for discounts or special deals in addition to "loan sales" they run throughout the year. (Also offered are Christmas Club accounts, which are great to help you save up to have money for holiday shopping.) Although they don't have ATM's at either location, they do have agreements with other local CU's or ATM companies so EMFCU won't charge you to use their machines. (But it's still the choice of the ATM owner if they want to charge for use of their machines.) Lastly, EMFCU has convenient hours at both locations and with all the other benefits, if you are eligible to join, do it because it's worth it!
