Dr. Zair Fishkin is a Board Certified orthopedic spine surgeon. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. After completing a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Dr. Fishkin attended the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. He further trained as a spinal surgery fellow at the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Fishkin has authored more than 25 scientific publications, including peer reviewed articles and book chapters on orthopedic and spinal conditions including total disc replacement and computer aided surgery. He has won multiple awards for his research, including international conferences. Following his training, Dr. Fishkin returned to his hometown of Buffalo, New York, where he is happy to be reunited with his friends and family. He joined Pinnacle Orthopedic and Spine Specialists in the downtown Buffalo medical corridor. Dr. Fishkin treats both pediatric and adult conditions of the spine. His interests include minimally invasive adult and pediatric spinal surgery, scoliosis, and kyphoplasty for the treatment of vertebral compression fractures in the elderly. He treats deformity and degenerative conditions of the spine and sees patients with whiplash injuries, fractures, work-related injuries, and disc herniations. In addition, Dr. Fishkin is fluent in Russian.
