On 12/3/09 I called for a Friday 12/11/09 reservation. I asked if they would honor a $100 gift certificate that expires on 12/8/09. I explained we wanted to use it on a Friday night since my wife and I both work late and it is difficult for us to plan dinner out during the week. The "Chef/Owner" said he would NOT honor the certificate. I explained that I WILL NEVER EAT AT TORCHES, and have advised all of our family and friends, who also find their decision unbelievable. The hostess actually called me on 12/10 to confirm!!! Their decision not to accept the certificate flies in the face of well established resturants - both fine dining and casual/family - who are more than happy to honor certificates that recently expired, as was described by restaurant owner Mark Croce in a recent Business First addition that covered the local restaurant industry."
