Founded in 1971, the Occupational Development Center, also known as ODC, is a community rehabilitation business that receives referrals for services from the Department of Economic Security and County Social Services. It places people with disabilities in various working environments, such as cleaning and janitorial work, office and retail sales, product sorting and restaurant workers. The center provides employment, job development and placement, maintenance support, post employment and closure services. The Occupational Development Center also provides subcontracting services, including assembly, packaging, die cutting, sewing, collating, sorting, mail processing and document shredding. It also provides crating and metal fabricating products. The center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The Occupational Development Center is a member of the United Way. It maintains a location in Buhl, Minn.
