Established in 1959, Seahurst Elementary serves students in kindergarten through grade six. Its academic curriculum includes programs in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally offers classes in music and physical education. Seahurst Elementary also offers the English Language Learners program. It has a parent-teacher association that organizes family nights, annual fall festivals and field trips and provides several after-school activities, such as chess, drama and Lego clubs. The school also provides after-school opportunities to develop soccer and writing skills. In addition, Seahurst Elementary operates an after-school math club for students to increase their math skills. It is located in Burien, Wash., and is a part of Highline Public Schools.
