Rent to Own by OVERPAYING!

Had an awful experience with this company. I rented an instrument for 4 years from this establishment and ended up geting ripped off! I had 2 kids learning music back in 8/07 and one just wanted to continue for a second and third year. So Margarita Heris informed me that I can rent to own instrument which cost $21.85 a month on my credit card. The total price on my contract was $495 for the instrument. About 6 months back the music store called for a new credit card to charge because the one on file expired. I gave them my new card # and asked for my balance because it's been about 3 years of paying. I was then informed I would recieve a call back. Never got one and just last week saw the charge again on my credit statement so I called them and immediately Margarita Heris apologized, told me it's been payed off and put a stop on my card. She also marked SOLD on my contract. The next morning I called back because after discussing it with my wife, if you multiply 21.85 by the months I paid since 8/07 it's much more than $495. It came out to $830 aprox. I spoke to Margarita Heris to see if I could get refunded the difference and she had me speak to the owner. Long story short...the owner refused to refund me the difference and told me that Margarita did me a favor by closing the account. The owner said I'm on a rental contract not a rent to own contract. I said, WTF!!! I wanted to speak to Margarita Heris because she is who I have dealt with these past years but he sent her to the back. The owner said this is his store and I rent forever until I return the insrument. I told him you offer rent to own and then he says who said that. I couldn't believe the stuff this guy was saying. He called me a liar! I told him Margarita Heris made the contract and informed me of the rent to own but he never got her. There's no way I should have to pay more than what they sell the instument for. I told him I shouldv'e reported the instrument lost because then(according to the contract) I would get a one time charge of $495 to my card which is a much better deal that $830. On top of that the owner stated that if I complain instead of leaving the account closed and satisfied he was going to continue to charge my credit card. I was astonished at the level of customer service this guy had. I will never go there again and caution others to make sure everything is in writing if you deal with this establishment.
