75 Years in the Snack Business Pik-Nik Shoestring Potatoes are an all-American snack that has been a consumer favorite for 75 years. Pik-Nik Shoestrings, created in the United States in the 1930s, were originally manufactured in San Jose, California. After a change of ownership, Shoestring Potatoes were sold under the Pik-Nik label in the American West while shoppers in the East knew them as Kobey's. In the 1980s, S&W Fine Foods purchased Pik-Nik and updated the famous canister's design to sell the popular Shoestring Potatoes throughout the United States and worldwide.
