As a (male) classical guitarist I often have my right hand nails done with acrylic and gloss. Vermont winters are not kind to natural nails. Ms. Hong knows exactly what she is doing and understands enough about the mechanics of the nails on the strings to get it right. She does suggest that you bring your guitar to check that they're right (it's a rather long process to re-angle or re-shape the nails with standard manual nail files at home). Ms. Hong also does a good job of making the nails look as natural as possible, it decreases the strange looks you get sometimes in public; if that kind of thing bothers you.

Ms. Hong is also a wonderful woman to talk to. Lots of stories, wonderful sense of humor, and very opinionated. If you visit her shop, you'll be be happy with the work done and you certainly won't be bored.

Okay, I love this place! As you walk up to the business, You begin to see that the salon is decorated in a way that is fun, funky and in style! I walked in and was immediately greeted by Ms. Hong. She is a 4'9 beautiful woman that from the get go, was full of spirit!

The inside of the business is decorated in bright colors and highlighted in zebra print. She also had soooo many varieties of paint colors. The biggest collection I have seen in any nail salon.

I went in for a paint change because I had gotten my nails done at a different salon and within a week, they were very chipped up. I decided to see if she was willing to do a design that I had found online. She saw the pic and said no problem. I asked her how much it would cost and to my surprise, it was 16. I really thought that was a great price because each of my nails were designed differently.

Ms. Hong did a great job with the design. I was very pleased with her work and her interpretation of the nails came out better that the pic. She added a tiny bit of sparkle and it really brought it all together.

I am happy that I stumbled across this business. It was such a fun, happy, very clean salon. The owner made me feel right at home! It is my new nail salon and would advise people to go check it out.

Let me start by saying I have weak, thin nails and am allergic to most acrylic and gel products. I discovered a hypoallergenic gel system from California that worked for me, and Miss Hong was more than willing to learn about the product and its administration. It's been a match made in heaven! I've been going to this salon every two weeks for well over two years, developing a wonderful relationship with Miss Hong and her family. I'm continually complimented on my beautiful nails and I've never gotten better pedicures anywhere! Furthermore, Miss Hong is very knowledgeable about maintaining healthy nails and is more than willing to share her expertise.

This place was awesome! we were an hour late and they still took us due to unforeseen car problems. We were laughing the whole time and it just felt like home :) Thanks so much for the pedicure I will be sure to come back

I went to the essential nail spa on mother's day and was amazed by the great service and wonderful owners of the spa. Right when myself and my family members walked through the door we were treated like family and launched into a hysterical conversation that lasted until our departure. Their wonderful service and humor made my amazing pedi and mani an experience to remember. I will return to essential nail spa soon and will inform all my friends of my experience. At essentail nail spa they know what they are doing, they are good at what they do, and made my mother's day memorable!

I just got my Shellac manicure done about a week ago, and it still looks amazing. Ms. Hong did a fantastic job on my weak nails. She's unlike the others. I have tried multiple nail salons for Shellac manicures, and by far Ms. Hong is the best! She takes her time and does a great job! This will be the only place I go from now on:)

Ms hond and di are very good at what they do. they take there time and do it right. so screw the ppl who think diffrent.find somewhere else to go.

It's essential. Asian touch with English tongue! Best manicure I've ever had, hear the pedi's are to-die-for too! Good location, professional service, personal care, great entertainment! HUGE color selection! Absolutely love it.

I am the current Miss Vermont USA and I will ONLY go to Hong & Di at Essential Nail Spa. My nails are beautiful and durable, and I get so many compliments on them. Not only is the service great, but Hong & Di are great as well. Essential Nail Spa is a great atmosphere and they are always full of energy and fun. I will be wearing nails by them at Miss USA this summer!

Beware, I had a horrible experience at Essential Nail Spa. The woman who performed my pedicure ridiculed me and made fun of me in front of my friends, saying my feet were grotesque. Hello? They're feet, you clean feet for a living! Beyond that, the place was dingy/dusty inside and service was sloooow. For what I paid, there are a half dozen other nail salons in Burlington that offer far superior service without putting you down or making you feel bad about yourself. I would highly NOT recommend this sub-par spa.

While you may have to wait for a little while, this family-run business really invites you in. Not only do they educate you on how to keep your nails healthy, they give you exceptional service while doing it. Their pedicures will totally rejuvinate your feet, and they have the best selection of polish color that i have seen at a nail salon. Once you pop in for a mani-pedi here, you will for sure become a regular.
